~~ Ken Ramey ~~
Both Ken’s father and grandfather were pastor/evangelists. He therefore recognized the call of God upon his life at an early age. Though formally educated in several college, university, and seminary settings, Ken has found that his primary knowledge and wisdom has come through experiencing the every-day ups and downs of life and ministry. He has served for more than 40 years both in the positions of assistant pastor and senior pastor. However, much of his career has been working with young adults.
Although, he has a pastor’s heart, his greatest gift and passion is evangelism. He has led countless people to salvation in many different venues. Ken has also had the opportunity to work full time in the workplace and understands, first hand, what missional living is all about. It was while he was living and working missionally that the Lord spoke clearly to him that he should be giving himself fully to the work of evangelism . . . specifically, helping churches to span the huge gap between the pulpit and the pew with regard to evangelism. He has since been living totally by faith fulfilling that call, and anticipates spending the rest of his life devoted to this work.
Ken was trained in evangelism and sharpened his gift as an evangelist from a very early age. His father, Rev Arthur Ramey, planted Calvary Baptist Church of Anaheim, CA, when he was 13 years old in their living room. Ken was a vital part of that great evangelistic church and participated in its growth, in time, becoming his father’s assistant pastor. Ken’s favorite ‘professor’ in Bible College was evangelist Dr. Carl Sweazy, who taught “Evangelism That Evangelizes.” He became so close to Dr. Sweazy that he was a part of his and Diane’s wedding ceremony. Jack Wyrtzen, founder and youth evangelist with Word of Life, Int’l., was very influential in Ken’s evangelistic growth. He served as the NW Area Representative with Word of Life for five years seeing literally thousands of teenagers come to Christ through major evangelistic events. Ken also has participated in many evangelistic crusades and conferences and has led numerous seminars and workshops regarding personal evangelism and evangelistic outreach. He is a current member evangelist with the Luis Palau, ‘Next Generation Alliance’. Everyone who knows Ken acknowledges that he has an infectious zeal and enthusiasm that is usually found only in those half his age.
Ken can be trusted by both local church pastors and leadership because he has a deep respect for local church ministry and believes God’s work is done in and through the local church.
Ken and his wife and ministry partner, Diane, have four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. So, as you can imagine, family is a huge part of their lives as well. They currently live in their motor coach in Amity, Oregon.
If you have any specific questions regarding Ken’s theology or doctrinal positions, please ask. But as Ken always emphasizes, He, like the Apostle Paul, fellowships and ministers with any and all who believe and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
~~ Jim Quayle ~~
Jim grew up in a non-Christian home, but as a teenager started going to a church attended by his best friend. At the age of 15 he walked the isle and prayed to receive the Lord at a church evangelistic crusade. Over the next several years he grew rapidly in the Lord through various church ministries as well as the personal discipleship of a couple of godly men. Jim sensed a greater call on his life toward full time ministry at that time, but was discouraged by his family as well as some church leaders. Instead, he joined the military. He served four years, and is a Vietnam veteran. After the military he obtained his B.A. in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University. Throughout these years he continued to grow in the word and was active in various churches.
Over the years Jim’s desire to serve the Lord has grown stronger as he has grown in the Lord. He has served as Sunday school leader and teacher, Chapter president of Gideon’s International, led home and workplace bible studies, has participated in several short-term mission trips, and has held various other church leadership positions. He is currently serving as an elder and small group pastor at River City Christian Fellowship, a cell based church in Sacramento, California. Jim is gifted in compassion, and as a pastor/teacher. Jim’s heart is for the laymen and women who sincerely love the Lord, but find very little understanding or support from the church in living for Christ in their everyday lives.
Jim is retired from the California State Park System where he was a project manager supervising the design and construction of many multimillion dollar projects. He lives with his wife Janice in Carmichael, California. They have two children, and three grandchildren. The grandchildren live right next door. So, they are enjoy daily interaction with their loved ones.
